Lalitha Sahasranama Verse 1

Om Sri Matha; 
Sri Maharaajni; 
Srimath SimhaasanEshwari;

Chitagni kunda sambootha; 

Devakaarya samudhyatha;

# Sri Maatha = First name addresses her 'THE MOTHER' She is the mother of entire universe. Universal Mother. Creator of all  sentient and in-sentient things. Primary source of all that is, was and will be.

# Sri Mahaaraajni - Ruler of the kingdom (universe). Her role here is to Maintain or sustain the creation. Maha Rajni, ie Greatest ruler. Primary in hierarchy.

# Srimath SimhaasanEshwari = One who rides lion, Sits on the throne of lion. Seated on ferocious line she depicts destruction. It can also mean to say she has control over entire creation.  She 'tames' every aspect of creation.

() Chith = Intellect, Soul, Knowledge

agni-kunda - fire-pit 

sambhootha = she arose (not created...she was swayambu or self-manifested)

# Chithagni kunda sambhootha = Self manifested from the fire of knowledge

# Deva kaarya samudhyatha = One who helps devas ie. Gods. We can also interpret as one who helps jeeva(spirit) to do virtuous tasks.

லலிதா சஹஸ்ர நாமம் - ஸ்லோகம் 1

ஓம் ஸ்ரீ மாதா;
 ஸ்ரீ மஹாராஜ்நீ;
 ஸ்ரீமத் ஸிம்ஹாசனேஷ்வரி;

சிதக்னி குண்ட சம்பூதா; 
தேவ கார்ய சமுத்யதா

# ஸ்ரீ மாதா = அன்னையானவள். பிரபஞ்சத்தின் தோற்றத்திற்க்கான காரணகர்த்தா. உலக சேதன அசேதன தோற்றத்திற்கெல்லாம் ஆதாரமான அன்னை. அவளினின்று புறப்பட்டது இப்ப்ரபஞ்சம்.

# ஸ்ரீ மஹாராஜ்ஞீ = பிரபஞ்சம் என்னும் ராஜ்ஜியத்தை ஆளுபவள். பரிபாலிப்பவள். தோற்றுவித்த அனைத்தையும் ஆளுபவள்.

# ஸ்ரீமத் சிம்ஹாசனேஷ்வரி = சிம்ம வாஹினி. சிம்மத்தை வாஹனமாக்கி கொலுவிருக்கிறாள். சிம்மத்தை ஆசனமாக கொண்டு வீற்றிருக்கிறாள். பிரபஞ்சத்தின் ஒடுக்கத்தை பிரதிபலிக்கிறாள். பஞ்சபூதம் முதல் அனைத்தையும் தன் வசத்தில் கட்டுக்குள் வைத்திருப்பவள்.

# சிதக்னி குண்ட சம்பூதா = 'சித்' என்னும் அக்னி குண்டத்திலிருந்து வேளிப்பட்டவள். 'சித்' என்பது சேதன்மாகிய ஆன்மாவை குறிக்கும். ஞானம் அல்லது அறிவாகிய அக்னி குண்டத்திலிருந்து சுயம்புவாக தோன்றியவள்.

# தேவ கார்ய சமுத்யதா = தேவர்களுக்கு உதவுபவள். தெய்வ செயல்களுக்கு உதவுபவள் என்று அர்த்தம் கொள்ளலாம்.தர்மத்தின் அடிப்படையில் அமைந்த நேர்மையான நீதிக்குட்பட்ட காரியங்களுக்கு துணை நிற்பவள்
